Through the Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG) and museum operations students have access to a vast and varied permanent collection of paintings, sculptures and photographs. LUAG maintains and develops Lehigh’s permanent art collection of over 13,000 objects. In addition, LUAG presents temporary exhibitions designed to provide visual literacy as part of the Lehigh learning experience. Approximately 20 exhibitions a year across Lehigh's three campuses introduce contemporary topics in art and culture to students, faculty, staff and local communities. LUAG also sponsors regular gallery talks, lectures, exhibition openings, meet the artist events and workshops. Students taking Museum Studies courses work directly in research and hands-on study of the objects in the permanent collection.
