FALL 2021 AAD REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Please refer to this document regarding courses that require department permission for Fall 2021. Most of our courses do not require department permission, although some require a prerequisite.

AAD majors and minors and students currently enrolled in AAD courses will receive the pre-registration link via email by Tuesday, April 13. The form will close 9am Friday, April 16.
Please wait for confirmation from department staff for department permission override and/or waitlist status.
If approved, you will be notified of your department permission status by email as well as notice an override on your Banner account. You may at this time register for the class. After requesting department permission via the google form, please wait for confirmation from department staff regarding department permission override and/or waitlist status.
AAD Majors and minors will have first priority for department permission courses, and after this, remaining spaces will be offered to non-major students. Permissions are determined by course instructors at the close of this form and throughout the registration period. Please be advised that there is no guarantee that space will be available.
Students who have not received department permission will be notified by email that they have been placed on the waitlist. If spaces become available the department will notify the student. AAD maintains a waitlist for courses that require department permission and you will be notified of your status on the waitlist during the registration process. Please refer to information about waitlists below that are not managed by AAD.
IMPORTANT: Once you receive departmental permission approval, please register for the class according to the official registration dates and times for your class year. Departmental permissions expire at 12:00 p.m. two days after your official registration date. After the first week of registration, department permissions expire 48 hours after receiving the email stating your status.
Non-major students are welcome to apply for department permission for courses they are interested in. Majors and minors of AAD will have first priority for department permission courses, and after this, remaining spaces will be offered to non-major students. Permissions are determined by course instructors during the registration process.
Waitlists for AAD department permission courses are maintained within the department. Waitlists for non department permission courses are managed by the Registrar. Please follow this link to learn more about how you can get on the Registrar’s Office waitlist.
The first day of class is mandatory for all students. Rostered as well as waitlisted students are required to attend the first day of class. During the first class session, the professor will review waitlisted students to determine if a student can be added to the class. If you do not attend the first day of class the professor will replace your space with another student and you will be required to drop the class.

If you are already a declared major or minor, please consult with your advisor on what courses to take, and in what suggested sequence. If you are undeclared and do not yet have an advisor in the department, please refer to the course catalog, which lists what courses are required.
Some instructor permission courses appear on the pre-registration form, with instructions on how to apply. If an instructor permission course does not appear on the pre-registration form, please email the instructor directly for permission.
